QASHQAI Kicks Off

This weekend kicked off the first-of-five of the The Qashqai Urban Challenge. The Nissan Qashqai events challenges fifteen of the world’s top urban freeriders to take on five European cities over five weekends to win the biggest-ever prize money in this sport. This is the first ever multi-freeride tour of its kind. Qashqai Urban Challenge presents riders taming the urban environment while highlighting a different MTB discipline in each of the five competitions. SRAM athlete and Santa Cruz Syndicate rider Jamie Goldman competed in the event and checked in with his first ‘Man on the Street’ report. JG: What's the strangest single thought you've had while being mid-air? BS: Aw man, I wish I would've just three'd that drop cause the trophy girls are hot. JG: What's your favorite part on your bike today and why? BS: Cranks...OCT and my water bottle shifter. JG: How many languages can you order a beer in? BS: Almost one. JG: What do you think you'd be doing right now if you never got off training wheels? BS: Training for the Horse Balls World Circuit. JG: Are there any pictures of you posted up at any rental car joints? BS: No, but wait a few years. JG: What was the first bike you jumped...and how did it break? BS: Kona Lava Dome.....ghost riding it off my neighbors' roof. JG: How many M&M's do you think you can put in your mouth at once? BS: 75 crunch, 100 chocolate. JG: Do you have a real life hero that you look up to? Who and why? BS: Wayne Cambell....Just because. JG: And finally, what did you do last night, and with who? Better yet, whatta doing tonight?! BS: Walked the streets of Newcastle with Ryder, Cam, The Spanish Fleas and Darren P. ........ PARTY!!! JG: And how old are you again? You're the youngest rider to attend this contest. BS: 16 JG: What's it like riding with all heros in a contest at such a young age? BS: Pretty ultimate. JG: What was your run?
